News: Hand Dyed Yarns!

If you follow me on Facebook or Twitter you may have already heard the news - I now have my own line of hand dyed yarns! This was one of my big plans for 2012 and I'm so excited to be debuting it. If you live in Boston, you can see my fibery goodness in person tomorrow at the SoWa Winter Market. If not, I will be adding more and more yarn to my Etsy Shop. If you are also a hopeless yarn addict (like myself), you can keep up with any fibery news at my Ravelry group.

Reading: Good Omens

Even though I consider myself very bookish, lately I feel like I never manage to read as much as I want. I am hoping this year is different! I am going to share what I read, and I would love to get suggestions on books you've enjoyed!

This month I finished Good Omens by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman. I had read some of their individual work before and I could definitely see both their voices in this book. Its a parody of the apocalypse - seemed like an appropriate way to start 2012 with it's premonitions of doom!

Spain Trip Part 3: Food!

This is the last of my Spain posts and I of course dedicated it to one of my favorite things. The food is usually what I remember most vividly when I visit new places.

A snack of caviar and vodka at Mercado de San Miguel

3
A typical shrimp and garlic appetizer (confession: I didn't like it)
4
stuffed olives
5
tortilla de papas
6
jamon iberico and cheese
7
panna cotta

9
vegetarian paella

I hope you've enjoyed these photos from my trip! Spanish tortilla is one of my favorite dishes and if I get my disorganized self in gear, I will post a recipe on here.

Spain Trip Part 2: Toledo

Toledo is a beautiful historic city with the narrowest streets I've ever seen. It is known for the beautiful cathedral and Toledo steel. Sadly we didn't come home with a toledo steel sword - I have enough problems with airport security without swords in my luggage. Seriously, those guys hate me.

Spain Trip Part 1: Downtown Madrid

Hello Friends! I hope 2012 is treating you well so far. I am having a really hard time narrowing down my Spain trip photos, but I've managed to summarize it into three (admittedly picture-heavy) posts. This first set of photos are from Madrid, where we were staying.

Happy New Year!

NYE2012

Wishing you all a wonderful 2012! My undeniably pessimistic self has a really good feeling about this year. I have lots of ideas and goals for 2012, among them updating this blog more often.

If you've been curious about my disappearance - right after my holiday craft fair season ended, Nate and I left to spend a couple of week in Spain visiting family. The photo above was taken in Toledo. Many more photos to come soon!
