A Milestone

Today feels like a milestone. The first ever Lakeside Fiber Retreat starts tomorrow, and I still can't believe this is something I created. I am excited, and terrified, and I can't wait to be there.

Yarn and Socks

I have been frantically dyeing yarn to bring to the retreat, so today I am packing it all up, along with my brand new socks. Yes, the never-ending socks are finally finished, and peeking out from underneath those fresh skeins in the photo. I can't bring myself to openly post how long it took me to knit these socks, but if you're really curious, the start date is posted in my Ravelry projects.

Off to pack my bags! Stay tuned for a post-retreat update.

The Never-Ending Socks

Many, many moons ago I started these socks in Toil & Trouble Classic in Persephone. This project has spent more than enough time loitering in my yarn bowl, so I am telling myself they are getting finished this spring. We shall see.

Socks

This project has taught me one thing though - I really don't enjoy two at a time socks using magic loop. Now that I've switched back to double-pointed needles, I am feeling much more inclined to finish these.

Fresh Yarn at Mind's Eye

The snow is slowly (really slowly) melting, and the faint hope of spring arrives. With it, fresh colorful yarn. Batches of fresh Classic and Archetype arrived at Mind's Eye Yarns in Cambridge this week. If you're local, go squish it and knit something cheerful!

MindsEye

For those who are wondering - yes, I've renamed all the Toil & Trouble yarn bases. After a few years of indecision, I finally settled on names I like.
